Late thespian actor Thilakan's daughter, Sonia has now come out and slammed the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) for having different standards for Dileep and her father.
Talking to a TV channel, Sonia said, “As certain people in the industry went through a mental agony because of my father, he was ousted from AMMA. But AMMA never showed a concern towards my father as they showed to Dileep by taking him back into the organisation.”
Thilakan's suspension
Actor Thilakan was suspended from AMMA in 2010 when he alleged that the functioning of the association was not transparent. On the other hand, AMMA members branded him as insane.

The then AMMA president Innocent told reporters that Thilakan had been making provocative statements against his colleagues in the industry. Reacting sharply to the decision back then, Thilakan said AMMA was responsible for harming his reputation.
