Should a girl marry nixing her dreams? This Bhavana-starrer short has the answer Bhavana plays the lead role in the movie.

Should a girl accept a marriage proposal by consigning her professional, intellectual, and personal dreams to flames. A short film titled Open Your Mind with an answer to this question is trending on social media now.

The socially relevant short, which has actress Bhavana playing the lead role, revolves around the meeting of two families to strike deal over a wedding alliance.

The subject unravels a plot where the young man, along with his parents and family members, visits the family of the girl with whom the marriage proposal has been made.

While discussing their terms for taking the proposal forward, the man's family explains that he is settled in the US. So the girl, who is a doctor by profession, should give up her job and accompany her would-be to the US after the marriage, the man's family demands.

The girl’s prospective in-laws are in no mood to accept the girl's wish to pursue her career as the man 'earns enough for the family.' They even raise the high cost in affording a housemaid to prepare food of their son's liking, as an issue.

The man's parents refuse to accept the personality of the girl and asks her to give up her dreams and stay at home to take care of their son. Besides, the groom’s mother shamelessly demands a hefty amount as dowry.

Nevertheless, the girl files a fitting reply, which stuns everyone and at the same time shores up her dignity.

The short film was released on YouTube a couple of years ago, but it's is getting widely shared on social media now for its extremely relevant theme in the current scenario.

Vishnu Raghav has directed the movie under the banner of Manikkoth Productions. Bhavana, Sai Kumar, Dinesh Panicker and Bindu Panicker play pivotal roles in the short film.
