If you were thinking that actress Manju Warrier was Dileep’s first wife, think again! An exclusive report by Manorama News, quoting police sources, has claimed that Dileep had married another woman before his wedding to Manju.
New Woman
It is reported that actor Dileep's first wife was his distant relative. According to police, Dileep and the woman got married at a register office, Aluva. Dileep, reportedly married the woman before making his cinematic debut in the 1990s. After his entry into the cine world, he got close with actress Manju Warrier. The relatives, who got a whiff of this affair, informed Dileep's wife about it and the couple parted ways. The woman, whose identity was not known, is reportedly in a Gulf country now.
Filmy beginning
Manju Warrier and Dileep got married without the consent of both families in a low-key ceremony on October 20, 1998. Manju, who was at the zenith of her career in cinema during the time, decided to quit acting immediately after tying the knot, much to the shock of her fans and media. Despite the initial issues, the couple patched up with both the families and started living in Aluva, with Dileep's family.

Dileep's career graph took an upwards turn after his wedding and he attained a hitmaker status in Mollywood. However, things started getting worse when Manju performed her arangettam at Sreekrishna Temple in Guruvayoor. Even though the arangettam news was officially announced by Dileep himself; the actor was not present at the event. Rumor mills were working over time and pulling out stories of Dileep and Kavya Madhavan and their impending marriage. But both Dileep and Kavya maintained they were friends. Later Manju moved out and started living with her parents, in Thrissur; while Dileep and their daughter, Meenakshi, continued to live in Aluva. Manju made her comeback into movies in 2014 with How Old Are You directed by Roshan Andrews. Later, the couple officially got divorced in January 2015.
Remarriage? No...
Dileep stated that he had no plans to remarry, and was busy with his career after the divorce. According to the actor, it was his daughter's extreme loneliness, which made him think about a remarriage.
In comes Kavya
When he started thinking about a remarriage, Dileep said that he was very sure that he cannot marry a stranger. As Kavya has always been crucified in his name, the actor felt that he should share the rest of his life with her.
Another beginning
Much to the surprise of many people, in and out of the film industry, both the actors, tied the knot on November 25, 2016, in a star-studded ceremony that was held in Kochi. Immediately after the marriage, Dileep, Kavya Madhavan and daughter Meenakshi went on for a Dubai trip and to the US for Dileep show 2017.
