Malayalam movie producer and former Kerala film exhibitors federation president Liberty Basheer said that Dileep was indeed the main culprit in actress attack case.
“I knew that Dileep had such a criminal background. This was bound to happen,’’ said Liberty Basheer. The producer made his comments after the Kerala police arrested the actor in connection with the case.
He further said, “At least now, people should know his real face and should not associate with him in any more projects. After what has now happened, AMMA should take necessary action against him.”

Dileep is accused of conspiracy behind the abduction and assault of the actress, an incident that has sent shock waves in the state.
Though he was arrested Monday evening following his questioning for the second time, the actor was in custody from morning itself. Sources said that the conspiracy was hatched at a hotel in Kochi during a rehearsal for AMMA show, almost three years ago.
