Nimta doosra selma: What language do Kalakeyas speak?

“Nim kle gadeetvoo tta corota-jra reyy... fuhoo kle,” roared the Kalakeya king. Some of the audience were startled, others thought the sound system has conked out. But there was no stopping for the king. He continued: “Dambadamba jivla baahaa-na...” Well, what language does the Kalakeyas speak? What does the much cheered “Nimta doosra selma...” sentence mean? The team Baahubali 2 answers these questions.

“This language is named Kiliki and is crafted by Madan Karthy, a dialogue writer,” said Baahubali actor Prabhas. “A Tamil poet and lyricist, he has even written songs in this language,” he added. When Rajamouli started ideating the project Baahubali, he wanted an exclusive, new and scaring language for the barbarian clan to speak. Madan Karthy invented this language and crafted dialogues for the movie.

Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali? Prabhas answers the riddle

Karthy had reportedly crafted a new language when he was living in Australia. He had named it 'CLICK' after the simplicity of its words, which sounded like the click of a mouse. Later, after his return to India, Rajamouli approached him, and asked to prepare a language for the Kalakeyas. The poet just revived his old hobby and built up an entire vocabulary and grammar system for the barbarians. He named it 'Kiliki.'

Incidentally, the oldest language of Africa was called Click although it’s no longer in use. Prabhas said that the entire team is still under the hangover of Bahubali and he is not yet out of his character in the movie. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I would never ever forget it,” he said in a press meet as part of the promotion of Baahubali - the conclusion.

When asked about his favorite character, Prabhas said that he loved doing Amarendra Bahubali than Sivudu. “Amarendra Bahubali is the mature, well-molded son of queen Sivakami. But Sivudu is a hot-blooded, daring youth. Amarendra Bahubali does't explode, shout or leap to decisions. He doesn't follow emotions. He is the perfect emperor that Mahishmathi deserves. I loved doing that character than playing Sivudu,” Prabhas said.
