Alappuzha: A camp involving about 15 artists are to be held on Vembanad Lake on Wednesday to celebrate 20 years of formation of 'Mattancheriyil Kalakshetram', a group formed by artists based in Alappuzha. During the camp, the artists would create works of art while traveling on the lake.
The camp is organized by Coco Houseboat and artists such as Vijayatejaswi, T R Udayakumar, Shijo Jacob, Shibu Chand and others would take part. Director Rinkuraj Mattancheriyil said that the carnival is to be called 'Coco Lagoon Color Carnival'.
The program is to be flagged off from Punnamada finishing point by Municipal Chair Thomas Joseph. KTDC chair M Vijayakumar would later join the camp and inaugurate the closing ceremonies with a drawing. When the boat reaches Rajiv Jetty, all pictures would be completed.
Trustee S Bhaskaran Pillai said that pictures drawn during the camp would be displayed at Rajiv jetty.
