Idli batter makerCoimbatore: If this deal is any indication, Americans are gobbling up idlis and dosas by the loads. A Coimbatore-based manufacturer of batter grinders has received an order for a mammoth wet grinder that can prepare 100 liters of batter in an hour.
A company run by Indian-origin entrepreneur Pradeepan Srinivasan has placed the order worth Rs 5 lakh. The company that supplies idli and dosa batter in the US market has decided to go for this giant machine for their Michigan plant to cater to the rising demand for the south Indian delicacy.
Coimbatore’s Trident Engineering, which supplies the machine, said the company has also received an order for a similar machine from Dubai. The company manufactures grinders with a capacity ranging from 5 liters to 400 liters.
