For the next four days, traffic in some of the busiest parts of Mumbai will come to a standstill due to restrictions imposed by the state police in connection with Mukesh Ambani's son's wedding. While the Anant Ambani - Radhika Merchant wedding happens today, the celebrations will go on till July 15. The traffic is restricted to 'make way' for the wedding guests and all roads near the wedding venue - Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra East will only be open for their vehicles, between 1 pm and midnight, on all four days. As the area is already decorated with flowers and ornamental lights, the traffic has been slow in the area for the past few days. At the same time, the area is also experiencing heavy rainfall today.
Restrictions in place
According to the notification issued by the police, the timings and arrangements of traffic on the four days are as follows:
1) Except for vehicles of the wedding guests, no entry for vehicles going from Laxmi Tower Junction, Dhirubai Ambani Square Avenue Lane - 3, Indian Oil Petrol Pump, Diamond Junction and Hotel Trident to Kurla MTNL.
2) The alternative route: Take a left turn at Laxmi Tower Junction, head to Diamond Gate No.8, take a right at NABARD Junction and Diamond Junctin, and proceed to BKC through the Dhirubai Ambani Square or Indian Oil Petrol Pump.
3) Traffic from Kurla, Diamond Junction, Platina Junction and MTNL Junction towards BKC will have to turn left at NABARD Junction, proceed through Diamond Gate No.8, take a right at Laxmi Tower Junction, and continue to BKC
4) Vehicles from BKC, One BKC, Bharat Nagar, We Work, Godrej, which are restricted at Jio Convention Centre Gate No.23 to divert right at Kautilya Bhavan, Avenue 1 road, behind Insurance Institute Office, towards American Consulate through the Dhirubai Ambani School.
5) Traffic from MTNL Junction to head left at Dhirubai Ambani School, progress via Avenue 1 road behind the Insurance Institute Office, turn right at We Work and turn left at Godrej BKC to head to your destination.
6) From Ambani Square to Laxmi Tower Junction, the Latika Road will be a one-way till July 15.
7) From Kautilya Bhavan to the American Consulate, Avenue 3 Road will be a one-way till July 15.
