Nehru Trophy Boat Race to be held this year: Minister

Tourism Minister P A Mohammed Riyas has said that the Nehru Trophy Boat Race would be held this year itself.

The Minister's statement has brought cheer to the district ahead of the Tourism Day.

Due to the Covid pandemic, the boat race could not be held last year and this year.

Though the boat race had to be postponed in 2018 and 2019 due to the floods, the race was held later. The Minister told Manorama that the feasibility of conducting the boat race was being examined.

The Minister was in the district on Saturday to review the tourism projects and AC road reconstruction.
