Kochi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the February 17 actress attack case suspended the questioning of Malayalam director Nadhirshah after he complained of high blood pressure Friday.

After his health deteriorated during interrogation at the Aluva police club, a group of doctors were called in to examine him, Manorama News reported Friday. Nadhirshah was then admitted to a hospital in Kochi. Though the director said that he would appear before the probe team again Friday itself, the police decided to continue the questioning only on Saturday.

The director reportedly told the cops that he would come to Aluva police club soon after some medical tests were carried out.

However, the cops have reportedly sought legal advise on questioning the director again.

Nadhirshah was summoned for questioning after prime accused Pulsar Suni reportedly told the cops that the director had given him Rs 25,000 at a movie location in Thodupuzha. Suni said that this amount was given to him as per the directions of actor Dileep who was arrested for allegedly plotting the kidnap and assault on the young actress.

However, when the police summoned him for questioning, the director, fearing arrest, had approached the court with an anticipatory bail plea. While postponing the bail plea hearing to September 18, the court had asked him to appear before the probe team. In the present circumstances, Nadhirshah was unlikely to be arrested. The prosecution had communicated this to the court during the bail plea hearing.

The director, and his friend and actor Dileep had been grilled for nearly 13 hours by the police on June 28. Dileep was subsequently arrested on July 10 for allegedly plotting the attack.

Soon after the police issued summons to appear before the probe team, the director sought treatment at a private hospital in Kochi.

The young actress was waylaid and attacked in a moving car in Kochi on February 17. The police had arrested Pulsar Suni, who had worked as a driver of many film personalities, six days after the incident.
