Sruthi Ramachandran became familiar to Malayali audience through her role of deceiving girlfriend in the super-hit Asif Ali-starrer Sunday Holiday. Later, she stunned the movie-goers with a supernatural make-over in Ranjith Sankar-Jayasoorya movie 'Pretham.' Her distinctive appearance as a ghost, wearing dark salwars and a calm expression, was a path-breaking attempt in Mollywood's horror genre.
Ironically, Kochi-native who flaunts ethnics costumes on the silver-screen loves over-sized t-shirts in real life! “Saree is my favorite party wear. I have had different phases in life when it comes to my style statement. There was a time when I loved wearing salwars, kurtis and ethnics. Later, I migrated to comfy-wear, like denims and shirts. At present, I am in the phase of saree-maniac. Despite of all these, I have always had a favorite attire to wear at casual occasions – over-sized t-shirts,” says Sruthi.
The actress says that over-sized tees unwind her and relieve her of stress. “I feel at home when I wear tees. I hate wearing perfectly shaped attires stitched around my body, at my home. I don't even mind wearing over-sized tees to family functions and other casual occasions,” she added.
A great fan of simple jewelry, Sruthi has a good collection of earrings, nose pins and finger-rings. “Among accessories, earrings and finger-rings are two things I wouldn't compromise upon. I am not a very stylish person but you'll never see me in public without these basic accessories,” Sruthi said. Sruthi loves to match her simple studs, designer nose-stud and silver-rings with denims, shirts, kurtis and even sarees.
The budding actor, whose latest movie 'Nonsense' is all set to hit the screens on October 20, Friday, admits that she is experimenting with different colour combinations in her costumes, of late. “I am a very bad customer for any costumer in the industry. I give a lot of instructions spoiling their basic freedom at work. I do that because I am extremely conscious about my looks,” Sruthi says.
Despite of all these, Sruthi loves to look organic, without heavy make-up or complicated hair-dos. Thinly lined wide eyes, a stone-studded nose-pin, a highlighting lip-colour and her hair let loose is Sruthi's signature style of appearance on any casual occasion.
Black or dark-shades fascinate her the most. Simple attires like a single-piece western dress, kurti-pyjama, pencil-cut denim and a check shirt or a cotton saree with ample accessories enriches her tall physique and elegant looks.
