Denver-based software provider FullContact and Kochi-based Profoundis Labs are separated by the seven seas but have a common thread – a zeal to explore infinite possibilities.
After Silicon Valley investor Dave Ambrose tweeted about Vibe, the Profoundis product became a topic of discussion in Product Hunt.

Kris Gopalakrishnan on the significance of the Profoundis deal
Vibeapp.co became a rage in technology sites and blogs. FullContact, which has acquired Profoundis, probably did the due diligence then and found out the potential of Profoundis.
"Vibe is basically an email-based software as a service (SAAS) product," says an early stage investor in Profoundis, who did not want to be identified.
Blockbuster deal: US firm acquires Kochi-based start-up Profoundis
Profoundis, which was also in the Microsoft Accelerator program, had earlier secured investments from Konglo Ventures and three individual investors from India and the US.
"As an investor, I only looked at the probability of the return on investment (ROI) then,” says an investor in Profoundis who declined to be identified.
It is only a coincidence that this investor was also an alumnus of Chengannur Engineering College from which the founders of Profoundis – Nithin Sam Oommen, Anoop Thomas Mathew, Jofin Joseph and Arjun R. Pillai – also graduated.
“With Vibe, you get basically a lot of high-potential info to seal a deal. An email-based search could unearth the potential target firm's decision-making level, the colleagues and influencers of the decision makers, and so on, which makes it easy to facilitate a deal,” says the investor.
And what does this mean to the startup ecosystem in Kerala?
“This (deal) is a very positive vibe that is being created. Profoundis had all the backing of the government, including the Startup Mission. This proves that there is a system in place and if there are good entrepreneurs who can use the system, they can hope to reap the rewards,” said the investor.
