Chennai/Kottayam: Even two days after Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa's death, Kerala State Road Transport Corporation is yet to resume services to the neighboring state.
The possibility of plying KSRTC and private buses to Tamil Nadu following the death of Jayalalithaa is uncertain and it is believed that normalcy in services could take some more time,it was learned.
Most of the KSRTC depots have said that they would start services to Tamil Nadu only after receiving clearance from the police. Some private buses could however start running their services to the state. Some KSRTC buses are running services up to the border.
The bus services were suspended in the wake of the tense situation prevailing in Tamil Nadu after the CM's death.
Tamil Nadu government buses are also not plying to Kerala. Buses from Bengaluru to Kerala have been avoiding Salem and are plying through Mysore to reach Kerala.
Private agencies are keeping a close watch on the developments and might start plying their buses through Salem and Coimbatore if it is safe to do so.
