The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at Kaloor in Kochi turned into an yellow sea Sunday with fans of home team Kerala Blasters filling up the stadium two hours ahead of the Indian Premier League (ISL) semifinal first leg match against Delhi Dynamos.
The city saw fans flocking into the stadium in huge numbers since noon and by 5 pm, the stadium reached its capacity. The fans, dressed in Blasters' jerseys, made merry singing and dancing their way into the stadium.
We don't know the official numbers yet, but it looks like there are more than half a lakh people in there.
The ISL fever has Kochi in its grip and auto-rickshaw drivers too are busy watching the match on their smartphones, one of our reporters said.
The Kerala crowd has already won the hearts of the ISL teams and officials for their cheerful attitude and the excitement has reached its pinnacle today.
The noise they make when they see the Kerala Blasters players and coach Steve Coppel is deafening and pulsating.
