Delegates should add Malayalam films to their must watch lists: Alencier

Thiruvananthapuram: Most of the delegates are coming to IFFK to watch world cinemas, but they should also add Malayalam films to their must watch movie lists, said actor Alencier Ley Lopez aka Alancier.

Remembering his first festival experience, the actor said that the delegates should support Malayalam movies featuring in the IFFK as some of those may not be able have a theater release later.

Alancier, who received applauds for his roles in Njan Steve Lopez and Maheshinte Prathikaaram, said the festival is a learning experience for film professionals like him.

"We're getting a chance to watch those movies that may never be able to have a regular release in theaters. This is a learning experience," he said.

"I've learnt a lot from watching movies in IFFK. This has helped me improving my skills," Alancier said.

He also said that it was the friendships he gained from here helped him get a role in Malayalam movie Kanyaka Talkies.

The actor said he have participated in the first IFFK as a delegate. "Today I'm an invitee and I'm happy to be here. From delegate to an official invitee - that gives me much happiness," he said.
