Christmas celebrations aren’t complete without enjoying some plum cake and grape wine. Here is how to make tasty grape wine in just five days.
Ingredients
1 kg grapes
¾ kg sugar
1 ½ litre water
4 cinnamon sticks (1 inch pieces)
6 cloves
4 cardamom pods
1 tsp yeast
Palmful of wheat
Preparation
Take the washed grapes, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and water in a vessel
Boil well
Now, mash them using a wooden spatula
Cook the mashed grapes on low flame for five more minutes
Pour the wine mix into a ceramic jar
Add yeast and wheat grains
Now seat the mouth of the jar using a soft white cloth (the cloth should be thin to let in air)
Keep the jar in a dark place
The next day, open the jar at the same time and mix using a wooden spatula
Mix the wine like this for four more days
On the fifth day, mix and then strain the wine
Strain the wine again using a piece of clean cloth
If you want the wine to be stronger, then keep it aside for 7, 14 or 21 days
Make sure that the jar and the spatula that is used to mix are dry.
