Ingredients
½ kg beef
2 onions
1 ½ tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 ½ tsp chilli powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp pepper powder
¾ cup grated coconut
½ tsp peppercorns
¼ tsp fenugreek
¼ tsp fennel seeds
2 cardamom pods
5 cloves
1 small piece cinnamon
10 shallots
Coconut oil
Salt as required
Curry leaves
¼ cup water

Preparation
Heat 2 tbsp coconut oil in a pan
Roast the grated coconut with cardamom pods, cinnamon, cloves, fenugreek, fennel seeds and peppercorns
Roast these until the coconut turns brown
After this mixture cools down, grind into a fine powder without adding any water
Into a pressure cooker add the beef pieces along with ginger-garlic paste, chilli powder, coriander powder, finely chopped shallots and salt
Mix well and pour ¼ cup water
Pressure cook until the beef pieces are cooked well
If there is stock left, boil until it reduces
Meanwhile, heat 3 tbsp coconut oil in a frying pan
Add the cooked beef and roast well
After the water or the gravy has reduced completely, add the previously ground masala powder and some curry leaves too
Roast well until the beef turns dry and are mixed nicely with the masala
Sprinkle pepper powder before taking the dish off the flame Tasty beef podi masala is ready.
