Hello
Parthasarthy had arrested Chidambaram's son Karthi too in the case.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted bail to Chidambaram in the INX Media money laundering case.
Chidambaram was first arrested by the CBI on August 21 in the INX Media corruption case. Following the CBI arrest and bail, the ED had arrested him on October 16 in the money laundering case.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the ED, told the court that Chidambaram continues to wield 'substantial influence' on crucial witnesses even from custody.
The high court said that the Hyderabad-based gastroenterologist Nageshwar Reddy, who has been treating the 74-year old Congress leader, be included in the board to give his opinion on Chidambaram's medical condition.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the sources said that it would be good if Chidambaram was immediately referred to some super speciality hospital for treatment, considering his poor health.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to senior Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram in the INX Media corruption case lodged by the CBI.
Before taking cognisance, Special Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar put various queries to the CBI including who were cheated.
Chidambaram is currently in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a related money laundering matter.
The ED has earlier informed the court that it had identified about two dozen foreign bank accounts, which were used to park kickbacks received from illegal favours granted by the former minister.
