Hello
Though the agreements for providing forecasts with Skymet, IMB Weather and Earth Networks have lapsed in September, all barring Earth Networks, were still providing updates to the State.
The Kerala government has been at loggerheads with the IMD after the Cyclone Ockhi in 2017 and the century's worst floods in 2018.
Skymet had predicted that monsoon will hit Kerala on May 28. Whereas, the India Meteorological Department had said the monsoon will make an onset over Kerala on June 1.
Rains usually lash Kerala around June 1 and cover the whole country by mid-July.
The monsoon is likely to be 93 per cent of the long period average (LPA), says the private weather forecasting agency.
