The Central Administrative Tribunal has directed the Kerala government to reinstate suspended Director General of Police Jacob Thomas. The order was issued on Monday.
Jacob, a 1985 IPS batch officer, has been under suspension for the last one-and-a-half year for criticising the government.
He recently attended a few public functions, organised by Sangh Parivar organisations, hinting that he would join BJP soon. At a recent public meeting, he described Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the ideological mentor of Sangh Parivar, as a cultural outfit.
Reacting to the CAT verdict, Jacob Thomas said it vindicates his stand and that anti-corruption movement is still alive and kicking in Kerala.

He has also led the Lokayukta, Human Rights Commission, State Women’s Commission and worked with different ministries and departments.
