Team up kinnathappam with chilli beef

Some food combinations are just mind-blowing. The more unlikely the pairing appears to be, better the chances for it to be delicious. One such ultimate combination that had foodies drooling in delight was a plate of pazhampori with beef.

The Malabar Plaza opposite Medical Trust at Pallimukku in Ernakulam put forth another combination that would give the pazhampori-beef combo a run for its money. That is Kinnathappam with chilli beef.

Kinnathappam is steamed rice cake that does not boast of any high sugar or fat content. Rice flour, coconut milk, sugar and cumin are all it takes to make one plate of Kinnathappam. Very soft and not too sweet.

Chilli beef is also not an extravagant dish. It does not hide any all-purpose flour or corn flour. Long thin beef slices floating in a sauce mixture along with pepper, celery and capsicum.

Dip a piece of Kinnathappam into the beef gravy before popping it into your mouth. A sea of flavours would literally waft through your mouth, from the sweetness of Kinnathappam to the tanginess of sauce and the hot flavour of the pepper. Also, order one strong cup of tea to complete the food experience.
