Kochi: The Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) has decided to conduct admission to BTech and other under-graduate courses based solely on the plus-two marks instead of the entrance exam. This is also applicable to BVoc and integrated MSc (science and photonics ) courses.
Several students had earlier refrained from applying to CUSAT as its common admission test and the National Defence Academy's exam were scheduled for the same day. Now with CUSAT deciding to conduct admission based only on plus-two marks this year, these students have sought another opportunity to submit their applications.
The CUSAT has received several letters with the same request. The students have sought a time frame of at least one-day to send in their applications.
As per the earlier notification, 24,203 students had applied for CUSAT BTech, 12,266 for integrated MSc; 3,815 for LLB; 10,242 for PG; 1,244 for MBA, and 507 for MTech.
When the AICTE-approved institutions changed their admission procedure for the MCA course this year, candidates were given fresh opportunities to apply.
Students are seeking a similar option to apply for the courses at the CUSAT.
