Thiruvananthapuram: Even as the whole of Kerala began swaying with the tide of the National Games fiesta, Run Ammu Run, a mobile game developed by Malayala Manorama has also embarked on its maiden journey without losing a bit of the feverish pitch of National Games.
The mobile app was launched by Kerala Sports Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan at a function held here on Saturday. The app was developed in association with Igloo Innovations, a mobile applications development company based in Thiruvananthapuram.
The game runs on Android platform and can be downloaded from Google Play Store for free.
The game can be played representing any of the states in India. Along with gaining points for the state and self, the player can challenge others in the game. Points should be scored by collecting the gold coins that are seen above the track while Ammu runs.
Ammu, the Games mascot, has to face many challenges on its way towards the finishing line and the player will be having three lives to its kitty. The game has been designed in such a manner to make the player familiarise with the events of the National Games.
A player's points in the leader board can be viewed by logging in through Facebook. Besides, historical monuments in India can also be seen on either side of Ammu's track.
The player, who covers maximum distance defying obstacles, will come out as the winner of the game.
