The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a new plan to issue insurance at the time of granting visitor visas. However, specific details regarding the launch date and any additional costs that may be involved have not been disclosed. The insurance protection will be made available when applying for a visa on the Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) website. Under the new plan, packages from major insurance companies will be available on the ICP site when a person applies for a visa. Currently, individuals applying for visitor visas through travel agencies have to purchase insurance separately.
For those wanting to correct their visa...
Those who need to update or correct the details in the visas should get it done within 60 days. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) noted that the applications for correction that are submitted after the stipulated period wouldn’t be accepted. Besides, necessary documents should be attached along with the application. Meanwhile, the corrected visas would be issued within two days after applying. You could apply if you need to update or change your name, occupation or sponsor’s address. The authorities noted that the applicant need not be present in the UAE to complete these procedures. The original visa and a copy of the passport are to be submitted along with the application. The application must be submitted only after checking the date of issue to ensure that it is done within 60 days. There will be a service charge of 200 dirhams, out of which 100 dirhams are for smart service, 50 dirhams as an application fee and 50 dirhams as a charge for the authority’s e-service facility.
The rate would change as per the requirement of the applicant. You could also apply via the UAEICP mobile application and other smart gateways. If the ICP asks to reapply in case of incomplete application or ambiguity, then the applicant must do so. If he /she fails to reapply, then the application may be cancelled. The applications, if cancelled like this, could be submitted again within 30 days. Applications that have been rejected up to three times cannot be submitted again. If the service charge for the rejected applications was paid using credit cards, the amount will be refunded within six months. Besides, the money could be transferred to approved bank accounts in the UAE. This procedure has to be completed within five years.
