Many tourists are trying ayurvedic massages and yoga sessions too to unwind. Meanwhile, tour operators say that the number of tourists arriving at Kovalam may go up in the upcoming weeks when the summer is at its peak. The beach is likely to remain crowded in March and April too. It is the first time that the coast has experienced such vibrancy since the COVID-19 outbreak. During the day, foreigners prefer sunbathing and taking a dip in the ocean. Tour operators say that the season may extend up to May, just like the pre–pandemic days. Meanwhile, the lifeguards warn that the currents in the ocean have become stronger. So, tourists are allowed to swim only close to the coast. Lifeguards are often seen issuing warnings to the tourists who swim or play in the ocean.
