The Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi (DCT-Abu Dhabi), lowered the tourism fee levied from guests to four per cent from six.

The 15-dirham municipality fee charged for a single room one-night stay was completely withdrawn. Likewise, the tourism fee and the municipality fee imposed on restaurants were entirely taken away. However, the municipal fee part of the hotel bill will remain at 4%.

With the reduction in government fees, the hotel room charges for guests will reflect a substantial fall.

The measures are aimed at wooing more tourists to the emirate and making it tourism-friendly, thereby bolstering the continued growth of the hospitality and tourism sector.
