Bengaluru/Mumbai: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has reiterated that COVID-negative certificate was mandatory for people entering the state from Kerala and Maharashtra.
The health department had earlier issued a directive on this and it was still valid. The Karnataka CM further said that the state would consider to bring in more regulations after the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the Chief Ministers of all states on Wednesday.
As experts warn of a possible second wave in Karnataka, the COVID care centres in the state would be set up again. A total of 932 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the state on Monday, and seven deaths were also reported.
Strict lockdown in Nagpur
The week-long strict lockdown at Nagpur in Maharashtra has begun. People have been barred from venturing out, except for emergency needs.
As many as 15,051 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the state on Monday, and 48 deaths were reported. Apprehensions were raised after the daily positive count crossed 16,000 in the state on Sunday.
A case was filed against Bollywood actress Gauahar Khan for taking part in the filming of a movie, despite being COVID positive.
The Maharashtra government has made it clear that the theatres and hotels in the state would function only at 50 per cent capacity.
