For the next four days, Kumarakom will reverberate with all things infotainment for tourists and local people, as it holds its first ever tourism fest. The event, which will be on till May 15, has Sreekumaramangalam School ground as the venue.

Celeb shows of dance, music, theatre and more
The event will have the attendance of many celebrity performers including a dance show by actress Asha Sharath (May 13, 7 pm), music programme by Sithara Krishnakumar (May 15, 8 pm) and band Karinthalakoottam (May 14, 8 pm).
Director Jayaraj will inaugurate the cultural forum on the final day of the event on May 15 at 5.30 pm.
Art performances by local talents
Alongside celeb shows, the local people will also stage various programmes like the folk song performance by 'Naadanperuma' group of Kumarakom on May 13 at 6 pm, mega thiruvathira show on May 14 at 9 am and a music show on the same day at 6 pm.
Unique competitions
Various competitions have already been going on in the region, in connection with the fest.
Coconut scrapping, fishing, coconut tree climbing, pillow fight and small boat races were held as a precursor to the event.
On Saturday at 2 pm, there will be a cooking competition for mothers.
