Kerala's Minnu Mani will be expected to continue her fine all-round form as India seek to avoid a clean sweep to Australia in the third and final Women's ODI in Perth on Wednesday.
Australia lead the series 2-0 after defeating India by five wickets in the first match and then hammering the visitors by 122 runs in the second match.
Ahead of the second match in Brisbane, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana handed over the India cap to ODI debutant Minnu. The Wayanad native did not disappoint and claimed two wickets before hitting an unbeaten 46 off 45 balls.
Richa Ghosh (54), Jemimah Rodrigues (43) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (38) were the only other batters who put up a fight in pursuit of a target of 372. Mandhana could not continue her form from the home series win over New Zealand in October, where she scored a century. In Australia, the left-hander has only made 8 and 9.
Out-of-form batter Shafali Verma is not part of the squad and Ghosh has filled in for the opening slot Down Under.
