Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM State Secretariat removed senior leader EP Jayarajan from the post of LDF ( Left Democratic Front) convener on Saturday. According to sources, he had expressed willingness to resign from the post. Jayarajan, who returned to Kannur on Friday night, will not attend the CPM State Secretariat meeting scheduled for Saturday.

Meanwhile, TP Ramakrishnan is widely speculated to be a potential candidate for the position. Ramakrishnan on Saturday stated that he has not been informed of any decision in this regard yet. CPM State Secretary M V Govindan will hold a press conference at 3.30 pm on Saturday.

On the morning of the 18th Lok Sabha election day, EP Jayarajan dropped a bombshell and put the LDF in the dock by admitting to meeting Prakash Javedakar, which was an allegation raised by BJP leader Sobha Surendran and Congress state chief K Sudhakaran.

Jayarajan stated that Javadekar visited him at his son's flat in Akkulam, Thiruvananthapuram, and insisted that no political discussions occurred during the meeting. He also claimed that a planned conspiracy had been launched against him.

Jayarajan's admission drew a sharp reaction from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. "Jayarajan is not careful with the company he keeps," Vijayan said after casting his vote. It was construed as a public censure. Pinarayi Vijayan quickly reacted to Jayarajan's confession.

We must be cautious of the company we keep. Some people wake up each day thinking about whom they can deceive. Under normal circumstances, we should avoid forming friendships, acquaintances, or relationships that cross certain boundaries," Vijayan said. "Going by past experiences, we know Jayarajan is not cautious enough."
