Chalakudy: The eight-year-old Malayali boy, Chris, who had been admitted to hospital with serious injuries in an accident that had earlier taken the lives of two of his family members at Toowoomba city in Australia, succumbed to injuries in the wee hours of Wednesday.

He hails from Naadukunnu, Periyachira at Potta in Chalakudy. His mother Lotsy, 35 and sister Kaitlyn Rose, 6, died in the accident that occurred on July 22.

His little brother, Kaiden, 2, had also been grievously hurt in the accident. His father Chulliyadan Bibin escaped with minor injuries.

Earlier, there were reports that Kaiden also had succumbed to the injuries sustained during the accident. However, it turned out to be false. He is presently recovering from the injuries.

The accident occurred when the car in which the family was travelling to Queensland where Lotsy got a new job, collided with a truck. Earlier, Lotsy was a nurse at Orange Hospital in New South Wales.

Lotsy was the daughter of Elinjipra Attakaran Jose and Alphonsa. It was in March that they went back to Australia after visiting their homes.
