Kerala receives heavy rainfall for months in a year and also bright sunshine for almost an equal span of time. Most architects consider this factor while designing homes and buildings here. The beautifully designed house in Valanchery in Malappuram district with a multi-layered and sloped roof too suits the tropical weather of Kerala. Meanwhile, the rain shades protect the walls from drizzles and moisture. The car porch that follows the theme of the structure is built separately. The structure has been built by leaving ample space in the front yard which is paved with classy tandoor stones and grass in alternate layers.
The elegant combination of white, grey and wooden shades adorns the walls of the house. Designed in 2100 sqft, the house has a car porch, sit-out, formal and family living areas, dining space, kitchen with a work area, two bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor. Meanwhile, the upper floor has two more bedrooms and a balcony as well.
The sit-out is simple and classy, with in-built seating arrangement. The entrance door opens to the living area furnished with custom-made furniture pieces. The bay window with in-built seating is the highlight here. The TV unit that could be rotated is yet another interesting feature in the living area. You could watch TV while relaxing on the cozy couch in the formal living area or while having a hearty meal in the dining space.
Flooring done in vitrified tiles grant a clean and elegant look to the interiors. Meanwhile, white and wooden coloured tiles have been used to separate the spaces.
The wooden dining table has a marble top, adding an elegant sheen. In-built seating has been arranged beneath the stair area as well as near the window, making the interiors extremely space efficient.
Bay windows have been smartly used in this house as they are charming little spaces where you can relax. Meanwhile, the head side walls of the bedrooms are highlighted with textured paint.
The modern kitchen has cabinets done in laminate finish and a countertop paved with quartz.
The beauty of the sloped roof and the ceiling tiles could be enjoyed from the upper floor. A family living area and an adjacent balcony are part of this floor.
