Contemporary and very mod. That’s how this 3600 sq ft house on 50 cents of land in Perinthalmanna looks. The elevation incorporates the best of design chic and land layout. Viewed from all angles, the structure gets the benefit of land area. The house stands way back on this square plot, which heightens its visual effect.
The spacious garden space has been filled with Kadappa stone. Whatever trees that stood on the land were retained and landscaping was done around them.
It’s a grey-white theme for the entire structure. The color theme begins from the elevation itself and continues all over. It’s from an L-shaped sit-out that one steps in. From here, there’s a small foyer that leads to the living room. The insides are aesthetically laid out. As there are no dividing walls to eat up the roominess, the total effect is one of expansiveness and brightness. The special effect of the room is the coolness it emits.
The dining, the staircase and the courtyard are all part of the main hall. All the furniture has been designed to match the interior theme. Louver windows separate the courtyard from the formal living. Except for the living room, which has cream colored floor tiles, the rest of the floor space has been covered with grey flooring tiles.
The visually stunning part of the house is undoubtedly the courtyard. The ceiling in double height is lavish on the sunlight which pours in through the skylight. The well laid out white pebbles is the design element here.
The most appealing part of the interior décor is the spiral staircase. GI frames and wood have been designed to bring out its stunning effect. A small sitting space has been set up upstairs. The design is such that one gets to view the décor down from the floor up and the effect is stunning.
The kitchen-dining space has an open style. It’s an eight-seat dining table, by the side of which room has been provided for a ladies sitting area. The pantry counter in the kitchen can be seen from the dining room. While the kitchen cupboards are all in mica-laminate finish, the white counter top is of Korean marble. A work area has also been set near the kitchen.
All the bedrooms have different color themes. While the master bedroom has a brown-white décor, the guest bedroom sports a blue, white and grey theme. There are vinyl panels on the headboard. All the bedrooms have attached bathrooms, cupboards and dressing areas.
There’s a small garden on the open balcony. Perhaps, the most striking feature of the house is the pleasant temperature inside be it sunshine or rain. Free of gimmicks, the house is a fine blend of beauty and utility.
