Indian mythology conquered the ramp at Paris Fashion Week when Rahul Mishra awed the Paris fashion world with his latest design.
In the black garment embellished with sequins, what attracted the audience were the two faces projecting from either side of the garment worn by the model.
Posting the the image of the design Rahul Mishra quoted that the “Hindu god Brahma, also known as Trikaldarshi, meaning the seer of all time—the past, present, and future—is the creator of the entire cosmos. In mythology, he is represented with four heads to contemplate all directions at once. The garment symbolises god Brahma’s intrinsic energy of ‘seer’ with the two faces crafted onto the surface of the silhouette, representing the imperceptible nature of god and their creation’s aura surrounding it.”
Mishra is the first Indian to receive an invite to Paris Fashion Week. The Kanpur native's career in design began with Kerala handloom. His debut at a fashion show was at Lakme Fashion Week where he presented seven designs crafted on Balaramapuram Handloom.
