When the freezer is opened regularly, the meat and fish that is kept uncovered might get infested with bacteria. Wash the meat and fish before keeping them in the freezer. Moreover, they should be stored in containers that have tight lids. Do not keep fish in the freezer without cleaning it and removing the gizzards.
