Mollywood movies that spoke and starred Thrissur

'Thrissur' essentially rings 'enthutta kdaave' (Hey, how are you) to ears and tastes 'fluffy milky vellayappams' to anybody who has tasted the city's flavor.

The cultural capital of Kerala, Thrissur has umpteen reasons to be proud of and the simplest could perhaps be the innumerable films that have aptured the dialect and slang of the place.

For a gadi(friend) who grew up in the milieu, learning to spell 'Pooram' (think Thrissur pooram), seeing mighty tuskers parading the Swaraj round, colorful parasols, glittering skies and thundering fireworks, Thrissur would not be just a place in your address, but a feeling, we bet.

Onmanorama takes a look at the films which attempted to delve deep into the nitty-gritty of Thrissur.

Thoovanathumbikal (1987)

The trademark scenes of the movie also had in focus the Vadakkunnathan temple of Thrissur. Who could possible forget Mohanlal saying “Immak oro naarangavellam kaachiyalo”(lets have chilled lemon juice).
