Kalpetta: CPI's Sathyan Mokeri and BJP's Navya Haridas filed their nominations to contest in the Wayanad bypolls on Thursday. While the LDF candidate, accompanied by Binoy Viswam and Annie Raja, submitted his nomination after a roadshow till Chandragiri at 11 am, Navya Haridas filed her nomination at 1 pm. "I am prepared, and my pen awaits my victory sign," she told the media. The BJP candidate was accompanied by the party's senior leaders Kummanam Rajasekharan and M T Ramesh.
"Priyanka's roadshow was just a festival people came to watch. The campaign is political, and spectators do not mean direct votes," Mokeri said.
The byelections will take place on November 13, and the votes will be counted on November 23. Congress candidate Priyanka Gandhi filed her nomination for her electoral debut in Wayanad on Wednesday after a grand road show in Kalpetta.
