Entries could be submitted for the ‘Malayala Manorama’ Chief Editor’s Trophy for the best college magazine in Kerala until October 30. The first prize comprises a cash award of Rs 50,000, a sculpture, and a certificate, which will be presented to the student editor.
The cash prize for the editor of the second prize-winning magazine is Rs 30,001, and for the third prize, Rs 20,001. A trophy and certificate will be presented to the prize-winning colleges as well. A special prize of Rs 5,001 will be given to the best Malayalam story published in a college magazine.
Conditions
College magazines published during the academic years 2021–22 and 2022–23 will be considered for the awards. E-magazines could also be submitted.
All higher educational institutions can take part in the competition, including universities, arts and science colleges, medical, engineering, management, paramedical, nursing, polytechnic/ITI and other professional colleges. The magazines should reach Malayala Manorama’s office in Kottayam by October 30.
Three copies of the magazine have to be sent, along with a certificate from the college principal attesting that the entry is the college magazine, a write-up by the student editor on five unique features of the magazine, and full contact details of the student editor (including phone number and e-mail address). Links to e-magazines should have the following scanned attachments: the principal's certificate, the student editor’s write-up, and contact details.
Procedure to submit entries
Take a copy of the story from the magazine, obtain a certificate from the principal, and send it separately. The name of the author, phone number, name of the college magazine, and year should be mentioned.
