New Delhi/Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala has done exceptionally well in the Class 10 and 12 final examinations conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
Nationally, the overall pass percentage of the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) examination for Class 10 students is 98.94%, whereas that for the Indian School Certificate examination for Class 12 students is 96.93%. In both categories, the pass percentage has come down compared to last year.
The Kerala region bagged 99.97% pass in the ICSE exam and 99.88% for ISC exam.
With 99.81 per cent the West region topped the pass percentage, followed by South region with 99.69 per cent.
Kerala had outshone other states yet again in the Central Board of Secondary Education final examinations for classes 10 and 12 which were published last week.
Toppers in Kerala
In the ICSE category, S Sreya (Lecole Chembaka, Thiruvananthapuram) and Theresa Maria Denny (St Patrick's Academy, Angamaly) shared the first rank in Kerala, bagging 498 marks each.
Sreya is the daughter of Technopark officials, Saji Sugathan and Priya Surendran. Theresa is the daughter of Denny Paul and Dinta Antony of Vadakkumcherry in Angamaly.
In the ISC category, Sreya Anil (St Thomas Residential School, Thiruvananthapuram) and S Hashna Shabi (Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Thiruvananthapuram) secured the first rank in Kerala, bagging 397 marks each.
Sreya Anil is the daughter of K R Anil Kumar, a teacher at the Munnar Engineering College, and Dr Divya R Prasad, faculty with the Sree Gokulam Medical College, Venjaramoodu.
Hashna is the daughter of J Shabida, who is an Assistant Executive Engineer with the Kerala Water Authority in Thiruvananthapuram.
