Applications invited for various research programs at central institutes

The last date for applying to PhD programmes in Disease Biology and Plant Science at the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology in Thiruvananthapuram is 10 December. 

The candidates should have post-graduate degree with minimum 55% marks in Life Science/Agriculture/Environmental Science/ Pharmaceutical/Medical Science or medicine-related subjects like Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Biophysics/ Chemistry and Microbiology. Scheduled categories and persons with disabilities require only 50% marks.  

The applicants should also have UGC/ CSIR/ ICMR/DBT/INSPIRE related Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) that is valid up to 5 years.

The course begins on 17 January.

Age limit
Candidates shouldn’t have crossed 28 years of age on 1 December 2021. Scheduled categories and persons with disabilities can avail age relaxation as per the guidelines. 

Online interview option
Interviews have been scheduled on 23 and 24 December as part of the selection process. The applicants can choose online interview too.

Hostel facilities are available for the selected candidates. 

Finger Printing and Diagnostics

Online applications are invited for the research scholars’ programme at the Centre for DNA Finger Printing and Diagnostics (CDFD) in Hyderabad that is operated by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The last date for submitting the online applications is 10 December.

Selected candidates can register for the PhD programmes of the Manipal Academy. 

Candidates require a minimum qualification of Master’s degree in science, technology and agriculture fields or MBBS. Those who are awaiting the results of the final semester too would be considered. 

The applicants should have Junior Research Fellowship of the CSIR/UGC/ DBT/ICMR/ INSPIRE/BINC/ JEST/UGC–RGF or similar fellowships. 

The online interview would be held on 2022 February. The research programme begins in March next year. 

Areas of research: Cell and Molecular Biology, Disease Biology, Molecular Microbiology, Computational Biology, Genetics and Immunology.
