Thiruvananthapuram: In light of the incessant rains and floods in Kerala, the date of reopening colleges is now extended to October 25. The decision was taken during a meeting convened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to discuss the situation.
On October 16, the government had postponed the proposed full-scale reopening of higher education institutions in Kerala from October 18 to 20.
Pinarayi Vijayan had said that the decision was forced upon in the wake of flooding and landslides seen at various parts of the state.
Colleges in the state had earlier reopened for the final year students on October 4.
