New Delhi: The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing on a petition, seeking to cancel CBSE and ICSE exams, to May 31.
In reply to the petitioner who sought the exams to be cancelled due to the Covid situation, the Supreme Court said that the Centre might resolve the uncertainty over the exams by June 1 and asked to be optimistic.
Justices AM Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari have also directed the CBSE and CISCE to be represented when the petition is considered. After seeking the opinions of the state governments, the Education Ministry is expected to announce its decision on June 1.
Advocate Mamata Sharma sought the exams to be cancelled due to the health crisis, and that special guidelines be announced for evaluation.
But petitions have also been filed in SC, seeking not to cancel class XII exams.
