Kuttikkanam: Management is the art of getting things done through others. The definition clearly states that it is a practice-oriented teamwork right from the planning stage. Theories alone cannot make a manager, it can only act as the building block.
“A manager should know the theories, moreover he should be able to apply those most efficiently and the success of management lies there”. These are the words of cine artist Pearlee Maaney while addressing the massive crowd of Caligo 2k19, which is one of South India’s biggest national-level management fest and the flagship event of Marian International Institute of Management, Kuttikkanam.
The 8th edition of Caligo was held here on September 26 and 27. Ashok Mani, C.E.O and founder of Kitchen Treasures, inaugurated the event.

Several spot events were also arranged for the non-participants. The total prize money for all the events amounted to over 2.6 Lakhs. Caligo 2k19 witnessed a total of 780 participants from acros Kerala.
“CALIGO 2K19 was indeed a practical hub for both the participants and organisers who had the opportunity to put all the management theories into practice cost-effectively and coherently,” Ricky Joseph Kocheril, General co-ordinator of Caligo, told Onmanorama. “There was nothing more valuable than coming together as one big community and celebrating the greatest management fest in South India” he added.
At the valedictory session, Pearlee stressed on the importance of application of theories. “I believe that Caligo is a great platform for the application of theories and showcasing the organizational skills,” she said.
The cultural programmes of students which were staged at night and the band performance by Astra 13 added colours to the fest.
