West Nile virus aka WNV is a mosquito-borne virus spread by the Cumulex mosquito.
Infected mosquitoes spread the disease among humans and animals, including birds. It can also spread through blood transfusion.
Fever, fatigue, body aches, headache, nausea, swollen glands and rash are some of its symptoms. But it can be asymptomatic in most cases.
No WNV-specific treatment or vaccine is available now, only supportive treatments can be taken. Also, take precautions against mosquito bites and spreading.
