Guide for flyers
Take these steps to prepare for potential disruption of flights, if you are travelling around these dates:
1) Be updated on flight status
On the airline's website or app, regularly check the flight's schedule to know of potential delays or cancellations.
2) Plan alternate routes
If your pre-planned flight or route experiences any kind of disruptions, have a backup plan in place. Check carriers of other flights and even other mode of travel, if you can't afford to get delayed.
3) Less luggage
As there will be more security checks due to Republic Day, it's better to pack light and make the checks smoother. Also, doubly check the list of items you are not allowed to carry in the check-in or cabbing baggage.
4) Be prepared for delays
Even after all the preparations, if you are forced to wait, you should have all the bare essentials to keep you occupied. Ensure you have enough movies downloaded on your device, snacks and water ready to entertain you during the waiting time.
