Thodupuzha: Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar has unveiled the brand-new double-decker bus that will be operating services in Munnar, in Thiruvananthapuram. The double-decker bus will soon be heading to Munnar to lure tourists to enjoy the mesmerizing charm of the verdant tea estates. The bus will reportedly start running services in Munnar by the second week of January. According to KSRTC sources, the inauguration should happen before January 15, alongside launching the first service. The bus has been launched as part of KSRTC’s widely appreciated Royal View project.

Facilities on the bus
The newly launched bus stands out for its unique features that promise to offer fabulous experiences to the passengers. The bus has transparent glass panels on its roof and body, allowing amazing views of the tea plantations and beautiful nature. The splendid light settings inside the bus will make night trips extra special. 38 passengers can be accommodated on the upper deck, while up to 12 passengers can be comfortably seated on the lower deck of the bus. Besides, a good quality music system and public information system have been arranged for the passengers’ convenience.

Proper arrangements will be made to supply the passengers with drinking water, snacks and other refreshments during the trip. There are mobile charging units, too. The open double-decker bus service launched in Thiruvananthapuram city had become a hit. KSRTC has now introduced a double-decker bus in Munnar in this model. The trial run of the double-decker bus was conducted in Munnar in April last year.
