Thiruvananthapuram: The KSRTC Swift bus that ran service between Kannamoola and Medical College on Sunday was quite special. The driver of this bus was Sreerag, while his mother, Yamuna, was its conductor. Yamuna, who entered the service as a temporary conductor at Aryanad depot in 2009, was moved to K-Swift in 2022. Since she received the ticket rack on her first day from the Chief Minister, Yamuna has also dreamed of a job at the corporation for her son. Meanwhile, Sreerag, who was interested in driving, was appointed at K-Swift last week to fulfil his mother’s dream. The mother-son duo recently operated their first service together, making it an unforgettable experience.

They enjoyed the trip by sharing a home-cooked meal. Before getting appointed to KSRTC, Sreerag worked as a temporary driver in the forest department. Although he had a conductor's licence, Sreerag wanted to work as a driver. Besides, his love for KSRTC and desire to work with his mother motivated Sreerag to get a job here. Yamuna lives at Aryanad with her husband, Rajendran Asari, who works at a workshop, and her younger son Sidharth, a temporary employee at Muttathara Engineering College. Meanwhile, ATO CP Prasad has instructed allotment duties to suit Yamuna and Sreerag’s schedules.
