Airports on alert
As of now, the fight operations at various airports stand unaffected, though Kolkata airport officials reportedly said safety precautions will be taken depending on how the climate changes. Officials said that if at all the cyclone spares the airport, it can stay shut for several hours. In May this year too, the Kolkata airport was shut down for 21 hours due to Cyclone Remal. Around 400 flights were cancelled and 200 were also diverted due to the same.
