Alappuzha: KSRTC’s budget tourism cell is conducting exciting trips to the serene backwaters of Alappuzha and the splendid Kuttanad countryside during the Onam holidays. The tourism cell has planned this package by partnering with the Kerala Water Transport Authority. The ticket rate includes the boat fare as well as the bus fare from various parts of the state to Alappuzha. This thrilling boating trip, in which the boats of See Kuttanad and Vega Boating would be used, has been organized by KSRTC’s budget tourism cell of Alappuzha.
Trips to Alappuzha have already been planned from Thiruvananthapuram City, Pappanamkode, Chadayamangalam, and Malappuram depots this month. Meanwhile, Kannur, Thrissur, Palakkad, Punalur, and Attingal depots have also asked for similar packages. Thiruvananthapuram City and Palakkad depots have successfully conducted leisure trips to Alappuzha.
Boat journey
Both boats begin their trips from the jetty near the KSRTC bus stand and cover Punnamada—Vembanad Lake—Muhamma—Pathiramanal—Kumarakam—Rani—Chithira—Marthhandam—R Block—C Block—Mangalassery—Kuppapuram before returning to Alappuzha. Visitors could spend half an hour on the island of Pathiramanal. Meanwhile, the Kudumbasree serves lunch inside the boats for just Rs 100. They will also serve the delicious Alappuzha special pearl spot fry. Here are a few of the planned trips.
See Kuttanad—The trip runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are 30 seats on the upper deck (Rs 500) and 60 seats on the lower deck (Rs 400).
Vega boat – This trip is from 10.30 am to 4 pm. There are 80 non – Ac seats (Rs 400) and 40 AC seats (Rs 600) on this boat.
