As various parts of Kerala continue to receive heavy rainfall, many areas are experiencing waterlogging and landslips. This has also resulted in the closure of major roads across the state. Tourists and travellers should ensure the roads they are travelling on are open, before starting the journey. Here are the details of the major closed and restricted roads and bridges submerged underwater:
Wayanad
1) Restricted access on NH 766 ( Kozhikode - Kalpetta)
Thrissur
1) Traffic restrictions for two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws from Chundal Bridge to Kechery on the Kuttippuram State Highway. Water accumulation was reported in the low-lying areas between Thrissur and Kunnamkulam. Most bus services are also cancelled on the route. The other buses are rerouted through the Alur area.  
2) Traffic through the Chalakudy-Malakappara route is restricted, except for emergency travel, including at night.
3) The 122-year-old Cochin bridge at Cheruthuruthi collapsed
4) The Puzhakkal - Kechery stretch of the Thrissur - Kuttippuram road is closed from the Nesto Supermarket area in Puzhakkal.

1) Traffic is restricted via the Nedumpoil - Mananthavady Ghat road due to cracks on the road. Those heading to Mananthavady should take the Palchuram Road. 
Kozhikode
1) Restrictions on the Wayanad Ghat Road for heavy vehicles due to cracks on the road. 
Palakkad
1) Pattambi Bridge closed
2) Restricted entry on Palakkad - Thrissur road
Idukki
1) Theni Munnar Gap Road closed
2) Night travel banned in all hilly areas from 7 pm to 6 am
